westcoin's comment got me thinking, so I retrieved Norweb sale catalogue this coin came from. This was lot 1610 from that sale, which I imagine was actual part of the Norweb holdings - If otherwise, I would think Bowers would have indicated as much. Also, no mention in the catalogue of other holdings being jointly sold in the sale. In any case, it was just a minor coin in that incredible sale - but I was happy to get it, and at a very affordable price too ($160 + commission).

(the stains visible in the picture turned out to be just surface deposits which came off easily - I guess they were part of the provenance too!)
