I think its kinda neat. Aside from maybe the war of 1812 quarters, is it not the first two-headed Canadian circulation coin?

It looks a little weird at first, but I like'em! As someone else mentioned in another thread I hope we don't see the same issues with the edge lettering rippling the face of the coin.

I'm trying to get a box of rolls before the CAND show this weekend...it's not looking good.

I haven't opened these rolls yet but the end coins do show the edge waffling.

Sir John A MacDonald is kind of drawing away from the perfection of Cape Breton Island. I understand why of course, too much of a good thing could put too much pressure on the coin market. I'm guessing that this is a test coin on that very subject. Once these coins quickly sell out it will be apparent to all that the Mint will have to do a series on the Majesty of Cape Breton Island. I look forward to it. A Diamond in the sea.

Flippers get ready this one will be in high demand around the globe.

Liverpool, that is the best post in the history of coin community forums, ney, the internet!

We hope that someday the McPuffin dollar becomes our new national currency.

Well, I lived on the island for seven or eight years and love to visit (and have lots of McPuffins), so I can join the nation ... right?

The 1981 Canadian silver dollar is another grand example of a fine Cape Breton coin issued by the Mint. It's funny... it was issued at the same time as my leaving the Island by train to go away to join Canada's Armed forces on that very year.
Interesting coincidence.....

Received mine today as well and enjoy seeing the Atlantic Provinces clearly on the rim.
