I saw the red canoe case for the new 2015 series..looks pretty cool, nice idea..not sure about the coin yet though..any thoughts?

Unless you are into collecting coin cases, coins come first. Nothing special about these coins.
Plus the odd shape of these cases makes it harder to display.

RCM didn't list the mintage when this was first released... Now that is has been out for a while they have 20,000 listed. They probably wanted to gauge interest before starting the presses and canoe factory!

20,000 is way too many. The 2015 proof silver dollar has that mintage. And it has a long-time specific collector history.

Also, the silver dollar (~ 3/4 oz) is a better intrinsic value (~4x bullion for SD v. ~4.5x bullion for this series).

Maybe the canoe gimmick is going to help (like the duck call), but the coins seem destined to sell below issue price.
