I collect vintage books a few months ago I picked up a 1925 copy of Joan of Arc. Found this 1929 $10 National Currency bill from the bank of New York, NY suck in between some pages. I was wondering if someone could tell me more about it and possibly a average value.

I'd say it's worth anywhere between $20 and $40 using ebay sold listings as a guide.

The 1929 FRBN Banknotes notes were an emergency issue printed over one weekend during the Great Depression.

They were printed in denominations of 5$ through $100 for most of the Federal Reserve Banks. Some star (replacement) notes were printed too and most of those are very scarce.

Your note is from one of the more "common" districts and usually sells at retail for 20 to 30$ in mid grade condition.

It is a neat find....especially in a book! (I've heard of that happening before.)

Although common, they are unusual. Retail value around $45 for this one. Perhaps you have gained some knowledge and interest in paper money.

Thanks for posting.
