I don't know about anyone else, but I just LOVE these auctions. For some reason they tend to get more expensive than the other similar listings. Maybe its because the buyers think the coins are more original and haven't been tampered with. But its just amazing what people leave behind for no one.

Wow, that's the first time I've seen a Gold Certificate. Are they still legal tender? How much do the cheapest ones tend to be (the lower quality ones, but not ones that are ripped or practically unreadable)?

They lost their legal tender status in 1933, and were illegal to own until 1964, when they were again made legal to own and spend for $20 etc, but NOT be redeemed for gold.

I have bought $10's and $20's in the past for a dollar over face, but now they are quite a bit pricier in "average circulated"
