Hello again everyone hope everyone is doing well. I was going through my moms old coins that she had from when she was younger. They had been misplaced for years and now I finally got my eager hands on them. I am mostly knowledgeable about pennies because they are cheaper to collect. Anyway this 1954 90% silver quarter is beautiful. So I took out my magnifying glass and with closer inspection, instead of in god we trust. It says god we rust the IN is slightly legible but the T in trust is missing. From my research it would seem I have a Grease Filled Die and that's why the lettering didn't stay. Please let me know what you think and if there is value besides the silver. Would it be worth sending in to NCG or some. Place similar. Thanks for any input.

very rough cleaning on that one. rubbed it down. post mint damage. It only holds sentimental and intrinsic value at this point.

When we were kids, we used to do this to quarters and halves with a file, because it was funny to show people our coins that said " GOD WE RUST "

Ok sounds good to me thank you all for your advice. I never cleaned it. It is possible my mom did years ago, could it be because I took two poor pics and edited them alot to show detail. Could that cause the cleaning look or is it the diaginal lines?

I was expecting a rusty (obviously fake since silver tarnishes) 1954 quarter with PMG that looked similar to the image.

The diagonal lines across the coin show it to have been very harshly cleaned. Hopefully the rest of the coins have fared better!
