Luckily, I was gifted 3 boxes of pennies for my birthday and I was able to take a short break from pursuing my PhD and I found this guy.

I may be imagining things and unfortunately cannot get better photos, but I believe I have found a LDS 1983-1DR-002.

Let me know what you think and what you may think it might grade. I'm pretty excited on this one. I also found one of the lessor doubled 1972P-1DOs in the same box!

It looks like a normal coin from what I can see. There are some things to look for on these. One a marker on the "O" of ONE:

Note how it appears from behind the right lower side of the "O"
The doubling on the EPU:

The hub doubling on the UNITED:

I'm not seeing that on your coin.

Coop, thank you for the images! The die marker on the O is definitely not present, but I was able to take some better pictures highlighting what I see. I also think the reverse wasn't struck the sharpest.

I definitely see notching on the I and T is United and extra thickness in the devices in a bunch of places. There is also a separation line running down the S in States and extra thickness in the 7th column on the memorial.

I could just be too deep down the rabbit hole, so if I am, am I just seeing wear contribute to thickening?

There were a lot of issues with die clashes that year. Some over polishing removed a lot of devices early. You coin show a heavy over polishing, but the devices look real fresh. The ones you noted as being doubled. That is the way they should look in this die state. But it is so refreshing to see the devices nice and rounded. They are not hub doubled, but from a fresh die that was worked over bad on the fields. I would save this one just for the die state.
Note on the 1983P-1DR001 the devices on AMERICA.

This one is a fresh die strike and your devices on AMERICA look sweet considering the others from this year.
