Why is the 2nd coin certified as a flip strike? Both strikes are by the same obverse and reverse dies. I would call that one double struck, rotated in collar.

Yes I questioned that as well but that's the way Louis graded them?

Very nice coin, I recently found a triple struck or flip struck 1978 canadian 1 cent in a collection. Its on ebay! it looks either flip struck or other coins got caught up in it. *** Edited by Staff - Please review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***I agree SPP

I think it's a vise job, seeing how the letters are reversed.

I am not convinced that the coin shown in the ebay link is a legitimate error...

Nice coins papeldog. I am kind of skeptical of the coin in the link.

Correct a newbie if he's wrong, but is it not against Forum Rules to promote the selling of one of your own coins on a discussion forum? I remember seeing an earlier post where a member had to move a listing to the appropriate forum. Just asking for my own information.

Perhaps he just assumed the second one was a flip strike because the other one was? The second one was certified right after the flip struck one so maybe its possible he just assumed?

Very nice coins VICK. I agree with the comments re: the second coin. I'd call up Louis and explain your position (and send him the pics too) and see if he would re-certify it for free. Just a suggestion.

Would it be correct to say that the Flip Strike would be worth more than a Double Struck Rotated with both being graded the same? Just trying to get educated when it comes to MD coins.

actually the second one is a point higher, id assume that the double struck rotated in collar would be rarer and more valuable since most of theses 1969 errors seem to be flips and double denominations.
