This one was graded by NGC in the late '80s (I think). Wondering how you folks would grade it:

1927-$20-St.-Gaudens

1927-$20-St.-Gaudens

It has the look of a lower Mint State piece. MS62 or 63.

I saw your list, so I already know the grade assigned, but I would suggest it is undergraded by more than one point. If sent to CAC, it could get the coveted gold sticker.

I've never tried to grade one of these before. No idea how to grade a gold coin. Let me first say it is very beautiful.

Something about the top of the torch, and the detail (lack of wear) on tge wings make me think it is ms.

There is a significant amount of chatter in the fields though.

I would go ms62?

I'd really rather have this one in-hand for grading - I see signs of a slider on both faces. If Mint State, 63-ish.

Sorry for the quality of the pics...I ordered some lights which hopefully will help.

NGC had this one graded as MS 60. Would this one be worth sending off again?

Should I send this one back to NGC? I wss planning to do PCGS for some of the ungraded coins...would it make sense to send this one to PCGS instead for Crossover? I don't really know much about CAC yet...would I just sent it there instead of NGC or PCGS?

Regrade is in order for that coin. It's a 63 in today's world.

You need to be a CAC member to submit to them. There are many CAC dealers or submitters you could work through. As far as resubmitting we're talking about plus ~ $100 when going from MS60 to MS63 for this date. Hardly worth the money.
