Notice the lighting on the obverse so you can't see that is FAKED imo.

Very clever.

You are right on this one. IF this had been caught between another coin strike it would appear much differently. Being struck on ONE side only is impossible. If you look at the letters in California, you will see that they sit on top of the incuse lettering of the word UNITED.
Not a very good fake at all. Seems as if there are a handful of people selling on the flea markets that have too much time on their hands. A real shame that some still fall for these.

The other was suppose to be a brokerage, (when an struck coin gets between the die and a planchet) leaving the the impression of the first coin on the second.

Here is what the person says:

you will see in the pics on the reverse this coin is struck with a another quarter that apperently was stuck in the collar... on the reverse you can see the indentation of another quarter but this one is.....

That would be simular to the Liberty nickel shown. However, there are obvious differences.

Here is another example:

My daughter and I love mushroom error coins like the ones above, it's one of her favorite types of errors as well as mickey mouse errors. I have many Mushrooms .... cents, nickels, dimes, and even a State Quarter.

A mushroom coin will have a nice broadstrike, with an indent or brockerage and will look like a mushroom. I have another example of a mushroom that instead of being broadstruck it is a flip over double struck, double dated dime, that is huge and in the shape of a mushroom, one of my favorite coins.

I don't see any of these getting out of the mint anymore
