When decimalisation was being planned for the UK, ( introduced 1971 ), there were plans for an aluminium quarter penny. I read that some patterns were produced but nothing more.

Does anyone know where pictures of this pattern can be found?

There's a little catalogue called "Collectors' Coins" that has a picture of one. It's published by an outfit called Rotographic Publications - they also do a "Collectors' Banknotes".

Yes, there are pictures of designs on another forum I've seen. I don't know if it's allowed to link to that forum or not though.

I assume you're talking about this piece on the British Museum website? I don't think it ever went past the on-paper design concept.

Anaximander - it was an older edition I saw it in, probably around 2005/6 - it had pictures of all the 1961 decimal patterns on one page. Perhaps they dropped that page to make more room for the vast numbers of recent new issues!
