These 2 nickels were acquired from insurance salvage a couple of years ago. They've been sitting in my closet ever since. I can tell they've been cleaned because of the hairline scratches. My question is should I hang on to them, or should I use them to level my washing machine that has been moving around quite a bit lately?

Keep. Although they are heavily beat up, they are still a cool piece of american history. PO01 or FR02

Isn't there a guy on CCF who has a master collection of lowballs? I can't remember his name, but his collection, particularly of commems which should have never seen circulation, is incredible.

Maybe you can find out his birthday and surprise him with these!

I would keep them and like someone said, use something worth 5 cents to level your washing machine. They are still worth a few bucks to someone, even in that low grade.
