ANACS finally changed there new slab with a hopefully newer sturdier one. I was just about to stop buying coins online in the new ANACS slabs because two out of my three shipments came damaged. Since ANACS made this new change, I wonder if this is an admittion that their older "new" slabs were flimsy and not sturdy and they said they were before. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...WA:IT&ih=018

Why do I envision another new variety to come out very shortly. Notice how small they now have the grade in that great big oval. Something tells me they will change that font again very soon. Thanks for the link Amazon, I've known about these for about two weeks but had never seen one.

Personally, I don't that oval works well with that slab. It just doesn't feel right and it seems too small for it. Condor, I think your right that they probably will change the font. I hope they don't have it as huge was it was on the previous one. IMO, it took the attention away from the coin and to the grade. I think they should have a mid sized font, since they the font they have right now is too tiny.

These new Clearview holders do not fit in the ANACS Clearview Storage boxes. I was rather disappointed when my latest submission came back and could not fit in the boxes with the rest since I had reholdered all of my rather large collection of old ANACS holdered coins so that the holders would all match and be stored together. Now, once again, the newest holders have to be stored separately.

Wow, that sucks that you reholdered all of them and now they don't fit. Are you going to reholder them, again? Welcome to the forum.

Reholdering them all for a second time would seem rather silly; ANACS might change the holder again next month! In any case, to the best of my knowledge, ANACS has not yet produced a Clearview storage box that fits the new holder. Maybe, when they do, they will make it fit both the original Clearview holders and the new thicker ones and allow intermixing. I would think that they owe their customers that much!

What I dont like is that ANACS is not putting problem coins into the new holders as well.... thats a shame because the old little slab with the new graphics was very catchy....too bad they ever went to the bigger holder..

I agree Coinfest that they should do something different with their label to designate problem coins. But I do disagree with about the older newer slab. Those this were so delicate that it was ridiculous. I ended up buying three of those and 2 outta three came damaged. They also seem so dang fragile in my hands. I did like the plastic they were using in it because it was much easier to photo the coin through it.

My recent orders from Anacs included the "problem" coins (cleaned and otherwise) in the new, thicker slabs; so apparently Anacs is doing away with the "classic" slabs altogether. Question, though: Is there a forum simply for Anacs collectors? In light of the market dominance by NGC and PCGS (not altogether justified, in my humble opinion), it would seem to me that those of us who regularly collect Anacs-graded coins, and who use Anacs grading services, should pursue some form of "Anacs collectors alliance." Just a thought.

Reti, I wouldn't mind if ANACS has it's own forum but they don't. They might in the future, but who knows. Like you said, ANACS is slabbing the problem coins in their new holder. It's believed that they continued to slab problem coins in there classic slabs is because that was left over inventory that they had to get rid of.

Amazon99: Thank you for the reply. I do believe that there are people in Anacs Customer Service who would participate in some kind of "Anacs collectors forum", but I doubt Anacs itself will take the time to establish one. I just don't think current senior management at Anacs appears able to think and move proactively and creatively, much less cooperatively. Witness their failure to even inform collectors of the pending slab change on their website.
My alternative wish, then, would be for a dealer/large collector with - or small group of same - to take the time to establish some kind of "Anacs collectors alliance" forum. I really think that there are enough of us out here that an active dealer could establish a nice market niche in Anacs trading, if the proper networking could be put in place.
Wish I had the time and know-how myself, but afraid I'm not that active a collector. Still, looks like a market opportunity to me.
