This is my only classic gold coin.
It was given to me by a friend of the family when he recently passed away.
I have a buddy who is a HUGE gold coin guy convince me to send it in. He said "it'll be fun".
So I sent it in, I do not have it yet, but they did take a pic of it.
So I thought it would be fun for everyone to take a stab at it. I erased the cert number so no one would cheat.
50 points to the winners and the correct grade will be revealed next week.

These are tough to grade, so lets see who grades like a TPG.

Ugh these are so difficult, I'm gonna say AU-55, I think I see some wear on the bottom feathers in the headdress.

I'm at AU58 also. Appears to have some circulation but the headdress streamers are seperated

The BLP quarter and half eagles are the hardest for me to grade in the whole of the U.S. series.

Based solely on what I see on the lower part of the secondary headband, my opinion for grade is
AU53.

I have been looking for a nice common date BLP half eagle for quiter some time. I will first have to examine it hand with loupe, before making a decision to buy.

I just love that unusual, innovative and successful design!

It's time to reveal the winners of the "who can grade like a TPG" contest.

This coin came in lower than I wanted, but I'm happy with it.
We have multiple winners and they will all receive 50 imaginary points.

The TPGs put up a grade of AU53.

Thank you all for playing and congratulations to our winners.
