RK55 Pillar of the Community United States 2189 Posts	Posted 01/28/2015 5:06 pm I could use a few opinions on this coin. It yells MS with all the luster obverse and reverse and full horn. But it appears to be a soft strike S mint and lacks details, or is it wear? Opinions? Thanks, RK Report this Post to the Staff

T-BOP Rest in Peace United States 18456 Posts	Posted 01/28/2015 7:12 pm I'm no expert on this , but if it's not the softest strike I've ever seen on a buffalo; then it's worn ,cleaned and lightly polished. what's throwing me off is a worn buffalo usually has worn letters obv. and rev. this one does not. As someone already mentioned, a weak strike is very common for this year and mint. The luster on these can vary from O.K. to awesome. Ones with a great strike and luster are very scarce. Anyway, IMHO, this coin has great luster, weak strike, and a few ticks on both sides. Overall I would grade it MS63. Note: If you're thinking of having it slabbed, the TPG services put little emphasis on weak strikes. Report this Post to the Staff
