Hello, anyone have any experience crossing over a coin from NGC to PCGS with a CAC sticker? Would CAC resticker it after crossing into PCGS?
Thanks

You will have to re-submit to CAC if you want a sticker.

Also, CAC sticker just means strong for the grade. Maybe if PCGS lowered it a grade CAC would sticker it. If it went up a grade, CAC would definitely not sticker it. No telling if CAC would sticker it as a same grade PCGS coin.

Thank you for the help. I just sent PCGS about 20 NGC slabs to cross over for my complete Eisenhower set. Only 2 of them were CAC stickered, so we will see when they come back.

Yes, you'll need to resubmit it to CAC after crossing at PCGS. Why are you crossing over? Just a question since NGC/CAC coins are usually very liquid and marketable.
I once had a PCGS/CAC green stickered coin that I re-submitted to PCGS for review and it upgraded from 62 to 63. CAC then gave it another green sticker at 63! It's very subjective no matter where it is submitted.

I like all my sets to be in a certain slab. I have all my SAE in NGC, because the majority of the purchases have been in NGC slabs. I have the majority of my Ikes in PCGS, so I am crossing over. I have one Ike in a small ANACS slab, but I am keeping that one intact because I find the slab size interesting. I will be purchasing another one to replace it in a PCGS slab.

In terms of the market, an NGC/CAC slab is probably equivalent to a plain PCGS slab, especially with Moderns where NGC's rep isn't that great.

Quote: If it went up a grade, CAC would definitely not sticker it. Actually, it happens all the time that PCGS upgrades coins, and then CAC still gives it a green bean at the new grade. Sometimes even gets upgraded two grade points. CAC is just as subjective and inconsistent as PCGS/NGC. Crossovers are money poorly spent IMO. The grading of both of the big-2 are about the same, and if you already have a CAC on the NGC holder, they will sell for about the same amount. Of course, you run the risk of it downgrading at PCGS just the same as upgrading or staying the same, so you're just putting money in the TPGs pocket to offer yet another subjective opinion. If you want a coin in a special brand of plastic, you're better off just buying it that way in the first place.
