That sucks,

Is there any chance of a computer using this site getting attacked as well?

bobby...

I was thinking of a fail over circuit..

as you know I am in the 'business', at work we have a nice fail over circuit, where we can switch from on provider to another.

I gather you folks have a hosting provider, so it would not be as easy for you.

The database would have to be put on a disk and shipped to another host for backup. Transfer is not feasible.

got ya...

we use oracle and have a live copy running on a sun server in a different state as our fail-over.
so every transaction is sent to the backup server.

granted, it is pretty expensive to do it this way.

Someone who bought a hoard of coins, posted them here, and was informed they're all worthless counterfeits?

Ever see on Pawn Stars when that happens - how irate the people get?

I think we found a definitive solution once we established the nature of the attack and the server behavior seems to confirm that.
