I wanted to revive an old thread. After some thought I decided I would make in into a type of pseudo game. The siliqua is the modern name given to small, thin, Roman silver coins produced from 4th century and later. Constantius II reduced the weight in the 350's to around 2.2 grams. Originally the Siliqua weighed as much as a post reform Denarius (3.3 grams) Here is how the scoring works Unclipped Siliqua = 5 points Clipped Siliqua ( or shovel damage )= 2.5 points If you ask what is a Siliqua = -10 points Be sure to to include a nice picture and description of your coin and Let the games begin Here we go Magnus Maximus Siliqua Trier mint 383-388 CE 2nd officina Edited by Augustus Maximus 02/01/2015 10:41 pm

Not pretty siliquae, but they're mine: (This one I got for a grand total of $20 ) (This one isn't clipped; its just normal (horrible) damage so technically I still get the 5 points )

@ 'VisigothKing':
Of your three Siliquae the Honorius is definitely the best. And no, 'Augustus_Maximus' deserves always -99 for not figuring out a Roman coin.

I am cheating a bit here. MetDet has put this coin aside for me, so I don't have it in hand and haven't even paid for it yet I can't attribute it yet as I can't read the mint, but if you can help in that respect, I would be grateful. Honorius VIRTVS ROMANUM

Have not much silver from the imperial times, my only Siliqua is crumbled, not worth showing off. But I used it in the GTE thread, so you can search for it in there.

That will be hard Pish due to the clipping. The most common mint of this guy is Milian (from what I have encountered). That's my best bet. 2.5 points to pish.
