I found this folded in thirds in a pile of stuff I picked up from a local estate. I also got some other old bills too I'll post later. I'm a coin guy and I know nothing about paper money. All I can tell you is this bill is larger than today's bills and besides the 2 folds, it's pretty crispy.

What are thoughts on value, condition and proper preservation.

Looks like someone folded an uncirculated bill and was stuck in the pile of stuff until you found it.

This bill is a more common issue of the three that were printed. This issue bears the Speelman/White signature combo. Although common, the condition (VF-XF) is still decent enough to bring around $40 to maybe $50 on a good day.

Definitely post the other notes too. I'd like to see them as well.

1923 is the most common series for large size $1 silver certs. Most are worth around $20, but yours is probably worth around $30-$40
