Before I start doing a bunch of research I was wondering what some of you folks may know about this. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

I don't know much about that set, but I do know that the condition of the package matters, so take good care of that.

I don't have the lid to the box. The Silver dollar looks to be showing some toning, I just read something about the fancy container leaking and air getting in. Could that be the reason for the toning? Could it effect the value. I do have the COA.

A Google search turned up that 12,689 of these sets were sold; how many of them remain in the original government packaging is hard to say.

Here's a link to a post I made about the Mint's Bicentennial medal - it includes a brief discussion of the Philadelphia Set: https://goccf.com/t/144820 Maybe it will answer your questions. If not, please post a specific question about the set. I'll try to help out.

Looking to get some good pics with an iphone, I'm not sure how it will work out. I have a bunch of commemorative proof sets to shoot as I may be looking to unload them.

@Gilron: If what you are looking for are the current market values for your various sets, I would suggest searching on ebay for the "Completed Auctions" of the items you have. Good luck!

Should I have these coins slabbed?

I would not bother with getting them slabbed, but that is just my opinion. I would prefer to keep that set intact.
