This coin program was proposed in each of the last two Congresses as well, but never made it out of Committee. Personally, I'm not in favor of it. The NFL makes enough money to support its Hall of Fame without needing surcharges from a US commemorative coin. There are other more more worthy programs (i.e., more historically important) to consider. Even though I am a life-long baseball fan. I was also not in favor of the Baseball HOF coins for the same reason. Who knows how this one will go? Maybe the "third time" will be the charm for it.

Time for an oval shaped and curved / dished coin?
As they used to say on SNL: "Who are the ad wizards that came up with this one?"

Personally, I am not interested.
I agree, the NFL has enough revenue. But baseball got one, so I suppose it will be difficult to deny this one.

I would like it.
I live near the Hall of Fame. The coin would go great with a ceramic bottle of Jim Beam shaped like the HOF that my Grandfather emptied himself many years ago and is a favorite collectible of mine.
If I were designing the coin I would go curved but not oval.
Make it a football spiral coming at you but make the tip off center for style. Give me the proof pigskinned obverse and I am a happy man.
For the reverse, gotta have an eagle. Maybe go with Chuck Bednarik and some heraldic eagle.

While I was excited about the Baseball HOF coin I am with those that are less than excited about this idea. I think I am just getting really tired of non-stop NFL.

My guess is they will make one and folks will go nuts over it.
I can see it now, a high relief top view of a bowl-shaped stadium with a football flying out of it..

In my opinion, Even the Baseball commen puts shame to the 'idea' behind them. Isn't that why they stopped letting "just anyone" with enough cash have them minted? I DO think They have enough as it is. Just an OPINION.

I'm on the fence. I agree it's not what I'd deem a worthy cause. At this point for me it depends what the designs look like.
