Grade and thoughts? This one resides in my 7070. The pics aren't great and the rim ding isn't that bad I think. The coin has some pretty multicolor toning in the fields that the pic doesn't really capture.

VF-25 seems about right for a details grade. The coin looks washed-out in your images, especially in the centers. If the pictures are accurate I'd suspect an old cleaning that has started to tone back at the edges.

The lighter centers are a result of my poor picture taking skills and resulting glare. The coin to me appears original but has some toning like its spent most of its life in a drawer somewhere. Thanks everyone!

Tough to see for the photo. Edited to add:
From what I can see from the photos, vf-35. I would take some acetone to help get rid of the black spots. They may cause pitting (if not already) so best to get rid of them now.

I've never used acetone on a coin for fear of messing something up and/or the coin ending up looking cleaned. Will it just remove the black spots only? I have a Pilgrim commemorative in AU that has this type of black splotchy toning as well.

Acetone will not damage a coin. Now if there is damage underneath black spots it may reveal it, but not create it.

As long as a rim bump doesn't show on both sides I can live with it, especially if it's in an album. VF-25.
