Here is another French coin (circa 1860s) with a slight problem. The fact that we don't know its date is a clue to the problem. As it turns out I did acquire this coin, and the other double header, at dinner in a fancy restaurant with dim lighting for ambiance and not coin dealing. The coin dealer was an old friend from which I sometimes buy coin lots sight unseen. These "cats came out of his bag of tricks" that night. I was not disappointed. Do you have any coin dealer friends worthy of a sight unseen purchase?

I'm surprised by your question.

All the coin dealers from whom I buy coins for more than £10 are worthy of a sight unseen purchase.

I know that if I buy from them, the coin or medal is correctly described and graded, and usually fairly priced.

I also know that if I don't like it, they'll accept it back and refund my money.

Also, this is surely an Italian coin not a French coin, from the period 1861 to 1878.
