French coin from 1862 with a slight problem. See if you can spot the error. I found it with only a few tries.

Spectacular error.
One wonders how on Earth did it sustain THAT much circulation wear.

Had a slight problem spotting the error at first. I was trying to look at it through the bottom of a beer bottle.

Perhaps this is a dumb question, but I was venture it none the less. How come the "bottom" bust (i.e. the one towards the top) doesn't have "EMANUELE" over it?

Now that you looked at the coin, like the old bus driver joke, where someone details the number of folks who got on and off at different stops and then asks you the bus driver's name, the error you should have caught is that this is an Italian coin. Not French. Woo Hoo! Same issue with my other post showing a brockage of a similar coin, which actually says it is Italian in the legend. Not French again. April 1st is right around the corner folks.
