How would you grade it?

The reverse definitely looks better. Maybe cleaned at some point.

VF25 details. The surfaces do not look original

VF-30 details and rather harshly cleaned, probably over-dipped. An original coin in this grade is worth quite a bit; unfortunately this piece has lost some of its potential value.

Given its condition and the fact that it was probably cleaned what would be the approx value?

The PCGS price guide shows $325 in VF-20 grade. This guide is generally high retail for PCGS-graded coins; you can usually find quality certified pieces for less than the stated values. At a guess your "problem" coin might find a buyer at $100; I suspect however most collectors would be put off by the cleaning.

Definitely harshly cleaned because you cannot see any skirt details in the obverse, overall I'd give it a VF20-25 grade, but its value is seriously hurt because of the issues.

Just an observation, looks like the rim is a little thicker on the obverse on one side than the other. Lol :)

There has been rim repair work done to eliminate some nics and bumps. That's probably the reason for a wider rim on both sides.
