Can someone please help me with this Barber quarter.

There are many mini DOTS. In obverse it is in the cheek. In reverse it is everywhere. What is it and also what would you grade this coin?

Those dots are usually from environmental damage like sitting on the ground for a while. Its a nice coin I'd say au.

Your coin doesn't *look* counterfeit, so I'd guess the bumps are from rusted dies. I could becwrong, so just wait for some other opinions.

Those zits cannot be caused by rust. Only by a casting process. Furthermore the denticles on the reverse are completely wrong (in fact the reverse seems very wrong).

The verdict: This coin cannot be genuine. It is a counterfeit.

But darn is it pretty. :-)

I agree with it being counterfeit (a pretty good one). The rims and denticles are not shaped right.

If that's a cast it's the best one I've ever seen. I defer to Steve's judgement though.

The reverse looks all wrong, the eagles head is what first stood out to me.

Nice pictures though...

What you're seeing is precisely what a rusted die strike looks like. Something involved in the creation of that coin was rusted. I don't think that thing, or this coin, originated at the US Mint. Doubt they'd allow a die to get this rusted.

Counterfeit, or subject to an odd environmental process.

OK, they usually didn't let dies get that rusted.
