I think if you need 2 names on ebay, you are likely up to something. You may use the other account to help run up bids.

The D on the supposed 14-D is WAY out of place. The 3 cent silver is a joke. At least on the disme he's honest about it being a reproduction. I also love how he claims the 14-D is "rb". The saddest thing is the the 14-D currently has 17 bids apparently from 4 bidders. Shame, shame, shame.

I'm not familiar with his other coins, but the 1914-d is a train wreck. these bidders are in desperate need of education.

I understand your frustration PawnS but we see a lot of ebay shenanigans around here. Multiple accounts, bidding and feedback schemes, they run the gamut. Unfortunately there are some unscrupulous scammers that make us wary of dual accounts. The bad apples make all eBayers look bad.

They may be separating their accounts for various reasons. I would certainly recommend it if you are buying and selling on ebay since if a purchase goes bad, some people will try to retaliate against you and do things with your listings and feedback. It has been done to me in the past. You can also get more free listings. I have two seller accounts but one I never use.

I am really concerned for the future of our hobby. Some fakes are obvious, but the Chinese are really getting good. I hope we can come up with some practical ideas to protect the hobby so much of us care so deeply about...

Education is the key to success. Unfortunately many collectors starting off get duped by these crooks and get turned off from the hobby.

Oh, now they've listed a Birch Cent as legit. Because, you know, those pop up all the time. With stashes of junk silver.

I wonder why ebay allows sellers who have multiple feedback of just not even producing the goods at all. They take the money and no coin follows. I have one seller in mind. My own fault to an extent since I did not read his feedback since he had 5 stars. The very first feedback said the guy stiffed a buyer. Myself, I would not buy a very valuable coin on ebay. You can't even clearly see the coins usually. The difference between EF and AU on a Liberty Walker may only the very minor. The cost differential can be substantial. However, I often find dealers in my area jusy, don't have the older Walkers in EF condition. I am just trying to get my collection together. I want to do like Scrooge McDuck. Throw the coins in the air and let them hit me on the head.
