Hello all, wondering your thoughts on this coin. I purchased it as a GEM Proof, but as I looked closer I think it might just be a well struck MS PL. Thank you for the help. Edward M.

Well, it doesn't have any mirroring on it... IMHO I think its a circulated proof like coin. I'be honestly found hundreds of BU 1963's coin roll hunting, they aren't that rare. Still, nice coin!

Tuff call for me but here I go: based on the sharp squared rim I will say proof. For sure not a gem proof.

It is a proof cent. Note the strength of the strike, the crispness of the devices. The coin was probably kept too long in the mint packaging. The surface has hazed. Here is a side by side:

Don't worry Child. I was thinking the same thing until John's comment redirected me to the rim. I've found several early 60s cents through CRH that I figured were BU-like business strikes. I may have to take another look at some.

I would have said BU also. Some of these P mint proofs can be tricky to identify.
