What is the best way, also the cheapest way to ship in the United states, let's say a Lincoln Cent, also a roll of lincoln cents? Last time I sold a coin on ebay, I came out losing money L. After bubble mailer cost plus shipping cost etc.
I checked older posts on CCF, but most of those are from years ago. Plus everyone has conflicting information.

Well since your in the United States I would suggest go straight to the Horses's Mouth.....the Post Office...they will give you all your options. Remember I believe they also give you $50 free insurance coverage. If you are not satisfied with that then there are other options for shipping elsewhere.

USPS insurance covers numismatic items, not bullion. UPS and FedEx do not cover coins - you need private insurance.

Also,if I'm not mistaken, buying the USPS postage through ebay saves 10%.

The discount on first class is the same as you'd get from the USPS website. If you are a top rated seller, you get commplus pricing which isn't all that much better for first class, but a lot better for priority mail. For anything under 13 ounces, first class is cheapest if you are not concerned about insurance. Add insurance and you'll be close to the priority mail price. If you aren't concerned about tracking, a single coin can be shipped in a stamped envelope. Technically you aren't supposed to mail anything in a letter with uneven thickness, but if you put a couple sheets of paper in with the coins, you should be ok.

So' typically coins don't get damaged in a standard envelope, with say, a couple small sheets of bubble wrap?
