Just wondering what affect pricing will have on Trend values of other coins in MS state from Landon auction, will the status quo remain or will we will see some ups and downs in prices?

I would hope that for a few of those large cents prices would be dropped.

The ones that had a truckload of ms65's and ms66's.

All other coins should be safe from a price reduction.

Those that list catalog values are VERY touchy about changing their prices.
They have to have high confidence that current auction/sales results are legit and not just an anomaly.

As a result of this sale, very little wil change. Large cent prices are certainly not going to crash and there was not enough premium silver coins to even make a ripple. The majority of the premium lots all went to to one source and they will control the market. In a short period of time this sale will be but a distant memory. Most likely scenario from this sale is it might create some positive interest in early Canadian and Provincial coins and tokens. This sale not only had Gems but also had many pleasing mid grade collector coins that are now fresh and will be available to the market. This area is the meat and potatoes of the market.

@Pacifcoin thanks for input, I value what you say based on your experience and as a dealer I'msure you are more informed than most of us. Hope to say hello in person someday.

@ Macdon yes it would be nice to meet in person. Met more than a few forum members and customers here this week. I would not worry a bit if you are in this for the long haul. One positive already, we have already had some requests for the Newfoundland coins we got and also the Victorian ten cent mid grade bulk lot we bought has generated a few email wants too. Based on what I am seeing, nothing but encouraging.

I think there could be an interesting period of time for prices as dealers resell some of the high grade bulk lots out into the wild. However, I suspect that some of these dealers, especially the dealer who bought the most there, have a longer term approach and will sell them slowly. I also think this sale may only adversely affect prices more permanently for a few dates that were plentiful in the Landon coins. Otherwise, I think it may create more interest and demand in mint state large cents. Bottom line, I am not worried about prices in the longer term.

Just don't be hold your breath for a adjustment dfor that "TREND" list of the value why would they do that now when theres no made any change for over all the last years when all the prices are gone way down but the Trends guy never change them prices down.

How come you think that guy he quit to be the editor of that price list maybe he was not feeling good about what he was doing no?

The honest thing is to tell the newcomers guys that most coin can be bought most of time these days for half of what is wrote in that Trends list anyhow so it's a good time though for to be buying lot of coin cause when the economic go back up on its feet so will the price of the coin investment.

Its prove that over the hundred years value of good coin performeds best than that stock market :)
