Hello . Man yesterday was a very bad day for me , shoving that aside, somebody purchased the Tiberius II Tremissis before I had a chance to get it On the bright side, I did find this Magnus Maximus AE4 for under $100 usd. I don't think it has BD but I will let you guys decide that. Interestingly enough AE coins of Magnus Maximus are rare compared to his silver Siliqua. ( personally I disagree with that) What do you think ?

Not sure if there is anything active on the coin, to be sure dip in acetone. How many Mad Max coins do you have by now?

Nice find. I still need one of his. The coin doesn't have BD IMO but it does have a think green patina. I don't think it can be cleaned any better without marring the surface of the coin.

Magus Maximus is a curious one...his coins sometimes take high prices, sometimes low. Ive personally cleaned a few and they show up nearly as regularly as Carausius (though are harder to distinguish). If you look around, you can find them very cheaply. I have a fragment of one of his Siliquae which I got for a couple of quid and a few cut folles around that ive kept. Some ebay sellers have some very cheap AE2s going - they regularly show up heavily worn. I guess they circulated after the Romans left Britain. As for the coin, no clear BD, but it looks quite rough. Might be quite solid encrustation, I recommend storing it under oil, might turn out nicely.

The A in MAG seems to have a bit of corrosion, couldnt tell ou if its BD. Perhaps its been treated. If it is BD, wouldnt be hard to treat.

Hi. A.M.
I can't see any B.D. but treatment can be done with (diluted) Aquarium Cleaner solution. (Dip for a few minutes and wash clean with DW. Seal with Rennaissance Wax.)
