Boston and St.John, NB appear to have had it the worst. Today is first NS Heritage Day and no one can move. Hunker down, more dry firewood in the stove. My wood pile is under there somewhere; Silveroid - we had a nice December but since then it has been a storm every three days. Maple season should be soon but was cancelled due to bad weather. Will be digging out to tap the trees in April.

Ya not much else to do, the plow has not been through yet since the storm started in early AM Sunday and I don't expect it till maybe late tonight or even tomorrow seeing the amount of snow thats come down and how bad the roads are, luckily I dont have to be anywhere other then drop a few items off at the post office which I am sure is closed anyways as well until tomorrow..

no wood stove here in Sarnia, but it's near record cold here. Staying home today as my Diesel VW won't even turn over. Dog loves it though - she's always asking to get outside. -19C and overcast. But when the sun is out, it looks like a fine Canadian winter day.

Well unless the mail lady in her 2003 GM whatever its is can drive over 4 ft snow drifts I wont be getting any mail... she might need to invest in a snowmobile if these storms keep up lol. No sign of a snow plow yet either. But my road is always the last to get plowed so maybe tomorrow.

Small wonder that Valentine's Day is so popular where you happen to be snowed in. Bed is much warmer!

Still waiting for the plow... but I got my drive way blown out last night and it was hard going , I dont think the plow will be able to move those high drifts as the snow is really compacted now, likely will have to use a loader which will slow things down considerably. Wheres Al Gore when you need him, I will give him a shovel and then we might get a new movie ... Oh goody , more snow coming tomorrow.

I just came in from doing our driveway - was hoping the sidewalk plow would be by to do our priority one street, but no. Thankfully I have less driveway than that, but then I'm using an $11.99 Costco shovel lol. Of course, living in a city means there's nowhere to put this snow, so I'm throwing each bit over a 6+ foot high bank, hoping it'll reach the other side and not too much falls back down.

Memories of my youth Northerncoins, I grew up in the Highlands of Cape Breton, and the plows had to be fitted with the large V blade just to open the roads up....
