Ooops, guess it didn't load. Toning on rev is much more colorful in person

I'm not a fan of the toning, and I would assume PCGS thought the same.

I'll say MS-64 on this one, although seeing it in a 63 slab wouldn't really surprise me considering the toning.

The toning makes it pretty much impossible to grade the coin via images. You'd need to light it from half a dozen different angles to hope to catch marks buried in toning.

Hey superdave, is this what u meant by "textile" toning? Looks like it was from the canvas bank bag it sat in

Hard to tell if it`s AU or MS, I'mgoing to with MS,`perhaps 63. As for the toning, the reverse is not bad but the obverse is quite unattractive IMO.

MS62 to me, there is not much of a stong strike on this coin, evidenced by the flatness of the hair over the ear.

The toning is not all that attractive IMO, looks somewhat like the "Redfield Hoard" Peach juice tone. Apparently LaVere Redfield had dumped hundreds of bags of silver dollars down a loading chute into one of his bunkers, where he also stored shelves of canned peaches. Upon opening the bunker after his death, it was noticed that several of these cans of peaches had burst due to the high temperatures in the Nevada desert, covering many of the bags in a thick peach glaze which caused many of them to tone in the bags with strange splotchy golden pattern, (similar to this one) along with the pattern from the canvas material from the bag the coins were in.

The excellent reverse makes this technically MS, so I'l just say MS63. Not a fan of the toning.

Most of you are correct. It's slabbed ms-63... good call on the Redfield peach. Can't believe I didn't put that together As a possibility. .. I agree it is somewhat unattractive but I like unusual toning patterns
