Here's something I think may be of use. For major coins I do most of my shopping online. I actually enjoy looking but it can also be frustrating. You'll see once in a while I'll post a coin of interest and ask for opinions.

I've seen others on the hunt as well. If anyone ever said, "hey, I'm looking for xxx can you guys help out?" I'd have fun helping that person search, and shop online. I might even know a trusted dealer who recently showed me the coin they want.

Perhaps I'm alone on that, but if others are the same way it might be a good idea to have a "Help Me Find" forum. The whole purpose would be all of us (as a collective) helping each other hunt. Giving buying advice, opinions on coins of interest, etc.

We have a similar forum "Post Numismatic Items You Want To Buy Here", but I think that's mostly for direct member to member sales.

the "want to buy" section can be the exact same thing you mention, it doesn't have to be direct sales between members. Sometimes I will search my favorites and see if I can find something someone is looking for and if I find a item I think fits their wants I will post a link (of course I would never send someone to a online store I haven't already done business with myself just for the obvious reasons)

True. The Numismatic items you want to buy forum is already there. I've seen suggestions also as to making a permanent post of reliable dealers. To your way of doing buisness, that would probably be more advantageous. Rather than you doing the searching for others, they could just go there. Problems with even that is you may like some and others may have trouble with the same ones. So how would it be possible to make such a site?
