Several members have these strange coins. Whenever I mentioned I don't have one of these in my Central Asia collection it was a response of surprise. Well, surprised you are no longer. I got one. not the best one, maybe not even a great one but I think I got a good one...for $12. Shahi Kings of Kabul and Gandhara Sri Samanta Deva AD 800-1000, Ohind,(Hund) Pakistan AR Jital 19 mm x 3.20 grams Obverse:Bull Nandi recumbent left. Tamgha on hind quarter. Negari Script- SRI SAMANTA DEVA Reverse: Horseman riding right holding banner, [BHI ASHARA] above left [Unknown symbol above right] Ref: Tye 14, Deyell 45  Edited by Ancientnoob

'chrsmat71', yours is not a Samanta Deva coin but a rarer coin, here from Mitchiner:   If you want a genuine Samanta Deva coin, I gladly swap one of mine for your coin.  |

thanks med! yeah, I just picked it up to have on of the type, and lucked out and got a sweet one I guess. a "type 23", had no idea when I picked it up.

$10 to $20 is the typical price range for these coins.
In the condition pictured, $12 is a good price.

Thanks Sel, It looked like I grabbed a middle of the road price with a slightly above middle of the road condition, but I am just happy to have scratched it off the list...  |
