Hello there everybody, this is my firt post so I hope I'm not being a bit cheeky. I have a coins which I was wondering if you can help me with. I have been told that it is probably arabic. It weighs 20.6 grms. It has a diameter aprox 36mm(3.6cm). The thickness of the coin however changes slighly through the coin. Anyway guys enjoy, and any help is appreciated. Jamie

Il have to add the pics in a bitt, as I'm having trouble resizing them!

Ottoman Empire, Turkey, 40 para I believe. There's something funky happening with your second pic; it's all stretched out!

The top pic is upside down; the date appears on that side, at the bottom (er, the top of your pic), in Arabic numerals and the Muslim Calendar, as 1255, the year of accession of Sultan Abdul Mejid, who ruled from 1839-1861 AD. The actual year of issue is indicated on the side we can't see right now, but the type (KM# 670) was issued from Year 17 to Year 23.
