Found this in a roll. Currently the oldest cent I have found in circulation with luster remaining.

I think we have forgotten what we have all learned when we first started collecting coins
back when we were young. If a coin has been circulated and mixed in a roll with other
circulated coins, as nice as it may be; CANNOT BE CALLed MS- or uncirculated.
so what we have here is an AU-58 !! JUST MY OPINON..

When you send it into a grading company they would have no way of knowing where it had been prior.

Circulation can be seen before visible wear starts, but it's almost impossible to photograph AU58 wear, much less the luster break on high surfaces where wear starts. Looks Uncirculated here but there's no doubt you'd see the circulation in-hand.

I disagree 100%. If a coin shows no wear, it is mint state regardless of where it came from. Using your definition, you could exclude coins as soon as they come off the stamping press since they fall into a balistic bag, are transported to the distribution companies and banks, and added into rolls. These rolls can and usually do have some worn coins in them.

By that definition, any coin today graded MS would be exremely rare. Someone would have had to personally go to the mint and have a coin pressed out for them.
An uncirculated coin simply shows no traces of wear, no matter where the coin was found.

O.K., back to the thread!
That's a good looking 1960.
Kinda makes you wonder where its been sitting for the last 55 years?
As far as grade goes, I would agree with SD....
