I have been hunting dimes lately, with little success. Yesterday I came upon two clear rolls of dimes with one thick blue stripe across the middle. On the other side of the city today, I found clear rolls with the exact same markings.

Anyways, any hunters here in the Greater Toronto Area?

Also, how do you all mark your rolls before re-rolling and returning them?

Downtown Toronto? I'm very near to Bloor and Bay and I've never had any luck roll hunting here, or getting pre-plated coinage in change. The chances were better when I was at Mississauga, and I occasionally get an older coin or two in change when I go all the way to Don Mills.

I'm in the southeast part of the city, near Gerrard/Woodbine.

Do you ever ask for 'large dollars' or fifty cent pieces when you visit the banks downtown?

Just wondering, have you found anything neat lately?

I've searched 45 rolls (all dimes) in the past two weeks. Best find was a 2004 Canada Open Golf dime, in proof condition, as it was only sold from the mint as a collector's item. Odd. Mintage of only 40 000.

Nope, nothing. I've never gotten anything great out of circulation or banks here yet (except for two 20-for-20s, a 50-for-50, and a 100-for-100, at the same time). I ask for large dollars, halves, silver, and old banknotes. I haven't gotten anything yet. The tellers will only give out recycled shrink-wrapped rolls (except loonies and toonies), so all of them are circulated plated coins.

I used to pick up stuff once every few weeks in Mississauga, so it feels like a desert here.

Wow, sorry to hear that.

In my area, I get CWRs around 60% of the time.

Searched through 14 dime CWRs today and yielded two silvers! 1967 Fish and 1968 .500! :D

Yeah, I get the feeling that the tellers are trained extremely strictly here. They told me they also comb silver out of their trays, and not give out whatever is not polymer notes. The RCM really wants their silver back, it seems.
