...11 Wide AM's! Not so much CRH as it was coin hoard hunting, but all were received in normal commerce. If this isn't the proper forum I apologize. I have been hoarding all of my cents ever since 1997, I figure I better start searching them before I loose my eyesight! Coin #1

Wow,what are the odds. Congrats. Just think if they were all 1999 I think I would give them all a quick dip in acetone and put them in 2x2's. Nice. John1

Looks like you found an error coin dump. If I were you, I'd save that $10.23 and check every coin carefully for variety/error. It's possible there could be additional error coins that you don't normally look for. OO

Quote: What part of the country are you in? North central Indiana. Quote: Looks like you found an error coin dump. Nope. All were acquired 1-4 at a time by me through daily commerce over the past 15 years.

Quote: I think your white balance might be a bit off Without a doubt. Just quick pics taken with my cell phone under CFL bulbs. Just now getting back into the swing of things after taking quite a long hiatus. Definitely need to brush up on my photography.

Holy cow. I've gone through a lot more than that and have NEVER found ANY WAMs (1998, 1999, or 2000). I had to resort to ebay to get a 1998, still have holes in my collection for 99 and 00.

Very nice! Are you planning to sell any of these?
And is that plating bubbles or a die crack that I see on #6 from the B in Liberty through the shoulder?

Quote: Are you planning to sell any of these Not real sure quite yet. I would like to try to identify any die markers when I get a chance. I think I remember reading somewhere that there were 31 dies with the Wide AM in 2000? I am probably wrong about that. Quote: plating bubbles or a die crack Plating bubbles...

When I started cent coin-roll-hunting I was putting all the WAM's aside, thinking they were hard to find. However, once I had a hole cup full of them from the first day of hunting, I figured there wasn't anything special about them and so I through them back into the return pile. ************ Maybe I got really lucky, but are they really worth any more than a penny to other people? Are they hard to find? ************ I am not saying that collecting WAM's (and all the other mint errors) is wrong; just that I don't get what the hubbub is about. I HAVE seen that some people pay good money ($3-$4 each) for WAM cents, but they don't 'bite' me like they do other collectors. I'm happy for you, ndgoflo, that you found what you were looking for. I'm with you in some regards, as I've had some collectors tell me that I was wasting my time collecting common (non silver) coins, but I enjoy finding newly minted change as much as buying older coins. I guess all of us have different "happy" areas that others don't.
