And the "B" for "crumbled" is nowhere near the "P" for "crumpled" on the keyboard.

VAM-13B "Crumbled Stars," very uncommon and probably worth what he's asking. Seller is an Error Fool otherwise but this one has legs.

Crumbled stars are just indicative of a late die state not an "error". Some people.

On 91o_collector's coin is that a Cud forming under the 18 of the date or am I seeing something that's a result of wear?

There is a bit of filling in of the denticle area below the date and below the neck point to 1st left star on my example - similar to that shown in a couple of the VW photos http://www.vamworld.com/1889-O+VAM-13B

It's an officially-designated Morgan variety. Crumbling gets a subvariety designation as a die state of the original variety.
