Has anybody heard about the Warner Brothers coins that will be available in May. They are RCM coins. There is a $10 and $20 face value plus a gold coin.

I haven't heard which characters, but these are some of the more popular ones: Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Road Runner, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Sylvester, Tweety.

With so many characters, maybe there will be multiple issues.

If there is a General Lee coin, I'll be all over that!! (Warner Brothers produced the original Dukes of Hazzard show).

At first I pooh pooh the possibility of Warner Brother Coins because there is no connection between Warner Brothers and Canada but a quick check of Wikipedia show one of the four Warner brothers was born in Canada. The youngest Warner Brother, Jack Warner, was born in London, Ontario.

The first Looney Tune cartoon came out in 1930, so it is the 85th anniversary of Looney Tunes. Which character to be released? Maybe Porky Pig since he was the first Looney Tune star and Bugs Bunny, the most popular.

Not only Warner Brothers have Looney tunes but they own DC Comics and the rights to Batman. Also the rights to Harry Potter.
Imagine the frenzy for Batman Coins compared to the Superman coins.

The most logical cartoon character for a gold coin is...

Warner-Brothers

Walt Disney's Scrooge McDuck!

I believe the gold coin will have a few different characters on it.

True that, they need fresh blood because alot of the old hand collectors are tiring from coin fatigue.

They interesting, but according to "no cash value" they are rounds.

These are the coins:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Niue-Island-...em2a36cd4d90

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Niue-2013-1-...em2a3f834c34

Nothing special, and if they will be again in the simple "painted" format, they'll continue recent "Disney Coins" way.

But the gold one, if the mintage will be limited enough and the price affordable - could be popular (for some period).

Didn't the US Mint issue a half dollar showing Benjamin Franklin as Bugs Bunny back in 1956?
