Hard to tell with the coin at that angle, but I think someone snagged a high grade 1906 small crown quarter for a wicked good price in that lot...

Methinks you might be right.
Wonder if the winning bidder knows?

Based on the bids, I'd say the winner definitely knows, but the underbidder was't very sure about it.

A little more pleasing example than this ICCS F12, for which I had been the underbidder.

Is it dished, with the Rev inset and the Obv slightly pushed out? I never knew that the coin was as rare as the auction price suggests.

Nice hit. The obverse wears that way because of the somewhat hi relief. I wonder what a die study would reveal on this transitional issue. Is there more than one reverse small crown die?

I believe that finding a 1906 25c small crown in F+ is as difficult as finding a 1858 10c 8/5c, or 1872 50c A/V in AU+...

There's the MS62 Belzberg, AU55 Belzberg, ICCS AU55, PCGS EF45, and ICCS F12

I'm hoping this one grades an F15 or VF20 PCGS.
