Hi guys could you look at this 1943-S and tell me what the S is struck over. I am puzzled. It looks like S over S the wrong way around. Appreciate your insight. Thanks
Looks like die wear which is very common because of the steel dies striking steel planchets. The die wear on the date/mint mark area is toward the rim.
