Found this in the woods metal detecting. Does anyone have a reference to date of manufacture and whether it is a telephone token? Thanks!

The short answer, is NO The Yale slot & slug co. made them out of Chicago. Called security telephone tokens, 1912 to 1914 (double slot) as they changed styles and designs over the years. But they didn't have the no refund/no cash value on them. Used mostly in Chicago from 1910 to the mid 40's.
the brass .05¢ ones are $1.00 to $2.00 Some have Y.S.& S.Co. or Goetz on them. Geotz was owner and founder of the company.

you have a newer security arcade token. See the next post

Also be aware that they are currently and recently as security arcade tokens. So it may not be a phone token, but a generic arcade machine token. Here are a couple of examples along width assorted widths of slots. They controlled the use of the proper payed for tokens in the proper machines or attractions.
