Are there examples of this dime with the DDO but no die crack?

Yes. The first three discovered did not have die cracks.

I can't see any obvious doubling from the seller's pictures as they are not the best, but I'll find out Friday-ish when it comes in the mail. If it is the DDO, then I can show it to Bill Fivaz the next day at a coin club meeting.

I'm more like 50% sure now. Apparently, that spot where the die crack is is a weak part of the die. I found another 1919 with a similar, but not the same, die crack.

New-Discovery!-1919-P-Mercury-Dime-DDO!

The one I bought seems to be of an earlier die state that the one jtlee posted. Any comments are appreciated.

Hard to tell whether the last 2 finds are the DDO, I think die crack on the wing tip are fairly common with Mercury dimes.

That stinks... Keep searching, though! I'd bet you money that you'll find a 1919 DDO on ebay.

Does anyone have the current population count of this variety? Last I saw was 7 but that's been awhile?
Have any sold yet?
Guesstimates as to value at G-4?

I had the chance to look at the ANACS slabbed discovery one last weekend. I know Jeff is planning on selling it. Maybe I'll try and grab it for my collection.

A VG-08 sold for $4000 amd an EF-40 sold for $5900. That should give a price point.

THAT'S IT! No wonder you were specifically asking about G-04. Probably an easy sell at $2000.

Where did you find it, if I may ask?

Went through my 90% merc bag, and there she was! Beat to heck and wore out (will do good to be G-4 I think), but had me floating all day!

Thanks to the post on this and another thread about the find, or I would have never known! Sometimes it's good to surf the webs :)

Awesome find for just pocket change. Are all of the major price lists for this type of coin up-to-date?

Another awesome find! I wonder if a high grade FB specimen is floating around out there and what the price for that must be! PFFF $15K+?
