Hi all, when it comes to grading MS Memorials, are there different standards or considerations between coppers and zincs? I was thinking about buying some slabbed examples as a grading set but was wondering if I would be comparing apples to oranges if it were comprised of both types.
Should I build separate grading sets, or will I be OK using both copper and zinc as examples? I assume I should choose one TPG as well, or would mix of PCGS and NGC get me where I'm going? Trying to do this a cheaply as possible, in grades from AU50ish to MS67.
The only difference is between memorials and wheats from what I've seen. In general, memorial cents seem to grade 1 point higher and they are more apt to grade 67-69. I think the grading between copper and zinc makes no difference except the zincs seem to be able to more easily be found in higher grades.
