Just like the silver dollar is 90% pure silver, the $5 gold coin is 90% gold and is worth about $180 if you melted it down. I was kind of hoping to find out its numismatic value based on the newest Red Book. Could you look further back in the book where the rest of the $5 gold commemorative coins are located and see if its listed there? Thanks Report this Post to the Staff
