Well, I recently inherited what remains of the family coin collection.. unfortunately, my grandmother, and my predecessor for posessing the collection, sold off alot of the more valuable coins, such as Morgans and Peace dollars... But there are still a few remnants.

However, old coins are not why I'm here tonight however. instead I have a rather odd set of commemorative coins. 2 pairs of coins labeled, "The American Prospector" Minted in 1984.

the one on the right is just a bullion coin not a commemorative, it is 1 ounce of fine silver. The one on the left I am not sure of but chances are it is the same thing, a bullion coin that would be worth what ever spot is at the particular time it is up for sale. Engelhard makes allot of bullion pieces and I definately don't know all of them

These are 1 OZ Silver bullion rounds produced by Engelhard. Worth the spot price of silver.
Engelhard is one of the better if not the best name to have as far as bullion is concerned.

There is definately a market out there for silver rounds. Some of our members collect them, while they may not be a Morgan or Peace dollar, Like Bryan said they are worth the spot price for silver.

Huh, nifty... so, it's sort of the equivolent of having a bar of silver? Just, polished and pretty?

And, just to be clear, the immage is two sides of the same coin... well, it's two coins, but they are the same, and the immage on the right is the reverse of the one on the left. I've got 4 of these rounds... It's nice to know what they are. Thank you.

Engelhard does make bars as well, I have seen their bars from 1 ounce to 100 ounces of silver. I always wanted a 100 ounce Engelhard bar but the prices soared not long after I started collecting silver as bullion and when you start out buying it at a little over 7.00 a ounce it is very hard to pay 13.00 a ounce for it
