Hello all, I live in a very small town called West Sand Lake, NY. It's about twenty minutes north of Albany and very rural, wouldn't have it any other way.
Anyhow, I am looking for a nice, reliable, and most importantly, fair LCS. I've had no luck locating one as of yet. The only establishments I've come across that had even a handful of classic coins were, to put it kindly, not so well kept pawn shops who were unfair in prices. If any one in the upstate NY area knows of one they are willing to share or have gone to before, I would appreciate it very much. I would prefer one that's not in a dense, urban area but at this point, I'd take just about anything. I completely understand if some folks do not want to share for one reason or another, by the way.
Also, I am sorry if this is not the correct forum for this topic. If it isn't, I kindly ask the administrators to move it to the correct one.
Thanks!

This is probably better suited to the larger Main Coin Forum audience so I'll move it. For the record, I was raised in Altamont; I know exactly where you are. Been too long since I've been back, though, so I can't help with dealers.

Very cool, I used to love going to the Alramont fair as a kid. Well, I'm still a kid, just 21, but I remember eating great fried dough and seeing some magnificent attractions back then. Thank you for moving this to the correct forum by the way.

Yeah, I went to the school right next to the fairgrounds. You weren't born yet the last time I was there.

Guess no ones from upstate New York...
Either that or no one wants to share, which I understand.

I honestly don't think there's much in the area. I found one PCGS dealer and two NGC (one the PCGS guy) in the Albany area.

Knew we had somebody up there. Ferris is the PCGS/NGC guy.

Quote: Ferris is the PCGS/NGC guy. That is Geoff. Ferris's has been around since the 1930's. Wendell, the owner, handles a lot of the bullion transactions. There is a stones guy there too. For coins though you would want to befriend Geoff. @Pytellc_ if you are in Saratoga, perhaps in summer, Check out The Vault also. I have dealt with Dennis for 20+ years. Again, know what you are looking for and any of these shops will likely bring out box after box for you to peruse.

Well, I certainly do not have that kind of spare money, but I will see next time I am up there if I have the time to stop in.
