But all mine are CRH specimens I found, so many, many empty spots. Has anyone else started a recovered Buffalo album before you? You may be on to something here... Report this Post to the Staff

carnold744 Valued Member United States 415 Posts	Posted 04/19/2015 2:57 pm Ok, so even though I haven't gotten the last two coins in the mail yet, I am going to go ahead and begin the part of this project that everyone has been waiting for: the pictures! I will do one year per post, and keep a running total of what I spent per coin as well. Now I will be honest, some of these acid dates are just about impossible to photograph, so you will just have to take my word on them. I had to be absolutely sure before I put it in the book. If there was any doubt, I didn't include it. Having said that, here is my first set of pictures, the 1913 Type 1 coins. I actually got all 3 of these on the same day, in a junk buffalo bin at a flea market. For my running price totals, some of these were bought in sets, and therefore not an even amount in cents. For those with fractional cents, I always rounded up to the nearest penny, to be sure I'm not cheating my budget. These coins cost 56.5 cents a piece, so I will call it 57 cents a piece. carnold744 Valued Member United States 415 Posts	Posted 04/19/2015 3:16 pm Ok, now onto the 1913 Type-2 Variety. These were all 3 very exciting coins to find! The 1913 coin I actually found in the junk bin at my local flea market for 57 cents and it had a partially readable date. That was a killer find. The D and S varieties of the 13 Type-2 I acid dated in a dateless roll I got off of ebay. To get both of those in the same roll was awesome! Those ran me 76 cents a piece, not a bad deal on those two coins! Now in the 13-D picture, you can really only make out the 3 with a flat top. This is all you need to identify this coin, because 1923 was the only other year with a flat top 3, and no coins were minted in Denver that year. In the 13-S, you can clearly make out the 13. For the 1914 coin, I was fortunate enough to have a CCF member give it to me for no cost to help the project. For the 1914-D I acid dated a coin I got from a junk tray and it was 38 cents. The 1914-S was one of my better finds. It was in a junk bin at an LCS I went to while I was on vacation, and it actually had a partially readable date! I got the coin for a great deal at 25 cents. Given this, I can now post photo updates for 1915-1920. 1915 proved probably the toughest year for me to complete, and the most expensive. 2 of the last 6 coins I needed for this set were 15 and 15-S, and both came from ebay after extensive deal-searching. The 1915 was $1.89 on ebay. The 15-D I got for 57 cents and acid dated from a dateless lot. The 15-S, the one that completed the entire set, ran me $7.50 on ebay.
